Visions of Mana: dates, platforms and incentives for the next main installment of the series

With a new trailer that introduces us to the fantasy setting of ‘Visions of Mana‘, the Japanese editor Square Enixhas finally announced the release date of the new chapter of the JRPG series on PC and consoles. As revealed at the end of the video, the title will be available starting August 29 on PC with Windows, PlayStation and Xbox Series. This is the first episode of the main series in more than 15 yearswhich is a long-awaited event for fans of the franchise.

A vibrant, colorful world with enchanting places to explore

The new title tells the unpublished story of Val, who has just been named guardian of souls and that is why he must accompany Hina, his childhood friend, to the Mana Tree. The new trailer serves as an introduction to the characters Palamina and Julei, with whom Val and Hina become friends as they travel the enormous world until they reach the Mana Tree.

The new material also shows in more detail some of the new game mechanics, such as the elemental relics: mystical artifacts that house the power of the elements within them. We can use these relics to change classes and obtain new skills during combat. In the ‘Visions of Mana’ confrontations we can create our own group, made up of three of the five playable characters (Val, Karina, Morley, Palamina and Julei), and with the support of Ramco, Ash and Hina.

Elemental Relics

As each character has a specific class for each elemental relic, it is possible to customize the group as we wish to enjoy an agile and flexible combat style. ‘Visions of Mana’ also marks the return of a classic element of the series: the wheel menu, which allows us to pause combat and plan the next move. In this colorful world there are also elemental devices that unlock new places to explore and allow us to find hidden objects. As if that were not enough, we can sail the seas and fly above the clouds with our travel companions Vuscav and Flammie. By invoking these companions it will be very easy to travel the wide sea and the entire world.
